The morning sun finally came to end the night. I got up as quietly as I could, to avoid waking Pyro, and padded downstairs to the kitchen. I started the stove, which still took a while to heat up. So, I walked over to the door and unlocked it, flipping the sign on the door to say open as I did. I returned to the kitchen and began preparing breakfast, now that the stove had begun to feel warm.
As I did, I heard claws walking along the wooden floor of our house. Leo, one of my kits, walked into the kitchen.
